BIO
Burn The Ocean was born from the fusion of two influential yet contrasting Genoese bands, Nerve (Melodic Death Metal) and 2Novembre (Rock/Stoner). After both disbanded in 2014, Fabio Palombi (Nerve, Ritual of Rebirth, Blackwave Studio) and Emanuele “Shuster” Pecollo (2Novembre, Volumi Criminali) joined forces to blend their musical worlds. With a foundation in ’90s rock, the band debuted with Come Clean (2015, Sliptrick Records), followed by extensive touring, including Balkan shows in 2017. Their raw, live-recorded EPs, Zeit and Perspective (2018), solidified their organic sound.
Following lineup changes, Burn The Ocean welcomed bassist Massimo “Kabuto” Repetto (Gandhi’s Gunn/Isaak) and drummer Chris Parisi (Zorn, Athlantis, Cadaveria). In 2022, they recorded Modern Ruins, a powerful fusion of contemporary rock and ‘90s alternative, mixed by Fabio Palombi and mastered by Giovanni Versari (Muse). Released via Argonauta Records on Feb 24, the album explores the emotional impact of modern society, delivering a dynamic mix of radio-ready anthems and gritty rock energy.
Following Modern Ruins, the band released cinematic videos for Almost Gone and Precious Things. In 2024, they dropped US, a four-track EP of unexpected covers, showcasing their diverse influences. Most recently, they released their first live album, Live Ruins, exclusively on Bandcamp and YouTube. Featuring 13 tracks recorded during their first-ever sold-out hometown show on March 13, 2023, it captures the band’s raw energy and evolution.
